For Claude and ChatGPT

Split bills just by asking Claude or ChatGPT

Add expenses, split them with your group and check who owes whom in plain words. Every entry lands in your Monesto ledger, where your group sees it too.

Connect your assistantFree to connect. No app needed: your account is created when you connect.
Or paste this into your assistant
Connect me to Monesto, my shared expense ledger. Its MCP server is https://mcp.monesto.me/mcp (remote, OAuth sign-in). If you can add MCP servers yourself, add it as "monesto" and start the sign-in. If you can't, walk me through adding it as a custom connector in this app, using https://monesto.me/ai/connect. In Codex or the ChatGPT desktop app, run `codex mcp add monesto --url https://mcp.monesto.me/mcp` and then `codex mcp login monesto`; in Claude Code, run `claude mcp add --transport http monesto https://mcp.monesto.me/mcp` and then `/mcp`. If sign-in fails with "dynamic client registration not supported", the app is out of date: tell me to update it, then try again. Once it's connected, ask Monesto who owes me.

Is it free?

Yes. Connecting Monesto to your assistant is free.

Claude works on any plan. The guide lists what ChatGPT currently needs.

Do I need the Monesto app?

No. Your account is created when you connect. You can open the same ledger later in Telegram or on iPhone.

What can people in my groups see?

The same as always: shared expenses in groups you’re both in, now with a “via Claude” or “via ChatGPT” label. Your personal expenses stay private.

Can the assistant pay or transfer money?

How do I disconnect?

Remove Monesto in your assistant’s settings, send /apps to @monesto_bot and tap Revoke, or use the link in the “connected” email. Access stops within a minute.
